Wire and port. thats a good start. Next you need software. since your computer didn't come with firewire originally, it doesn't know that you need to open Windows Movie Maker. With everything connected, open Movie Maker (or other video editing software) manually and it should detect that the camera is ready. If that works ok, you should be able to set XP to auto open Movie Maker next time.there
