lake Can a combat medic serve as a crew serve weapon gunner in the turret while on patrol.?

I am a combat medic in the army and im ighned to an Afghan Border Police Embedded training team. I want some trigger time in the turret, we have two other medical personel with our team. I am just curious to the legalities of this.there
